Florida Everblades defenseman A.J. Thelen thought he was making a typical school appearance on Thursday at Gulf Elementary School in Cape Coral, but less than five minutes after he entered the building with teammate Dominic Osman and team intern Caity Kauffman, Thelen found himself involved in a school lockdown. After a student reported to school officials that he spotted a man with a gun in a student bathroom, a code red was signaled, and all students, teachers and guests were ushered into classrooms.
